ABOUT 

Elektra Anastasi stars in the feature film The Theft of the Caravaggio, a bold new international production in which she takes on the leading role of Detective Sofia Leone. 

​

An Italo-Maltese actress fluent in English, Italian, and Maltese, Elektra has a diverse portfolio spanning feature films, theatre, and international collaborations. Previous film credits include The Devil’s Double, directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Dominic Cooper, and Michael Bay’s 13 Hours. She also worked with Canadian director Arev Manoukian (La Nuit Blanche) on The Maltese Fighter, a short film produced by Maltafilm and Spy Films Canada.

Her stage work includes acclaimed performances in FESTEN, Blackbird, Secret Bridesmaids’ Business, MEDEA, and 4:48 Psychosis. In 2006, she was nominated Best Actress by MADC, Malta’s leading dramatic arts organisation. Alongside her performance work, Elektra is also active in supporting the local industry she collaborated with Maltafilm to bring the Nancy Bishop Casting Masterclass to Malta, offering international-level training to local actors.

Her artistic training began with eight years of classical ballet in the Cecchetti method at the Tanya Bayona Princess Poutiatine Ballet Academy. She studied theatre at the Masquerade Theatre Arts School in Malta, completed several Guildhall acting exams with High Honours, and enhanced her classical craft through a Shakespeare Masterclass with Patsy Rodenburg and a Shakespeare programme at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.
